Peter Sanderson is a young, striking, and blue-blooded gentleman, greatly esteemed by his peers at every golf club on the Solway. Peter Sanderson, however, has just been declared deceased, and now his next-of-kin (his younger sister, Charlotte; two years his junior) is heiress apparent to Corbridge Park and the reluctant, sole executor of her late brother's estate.

 

Charlotte must leave behind her London flat, and all the freedom it has afforded, to take up the mantle first assumed by Peter in honour of their beloved father, Charles Sanderson, whose dream was to see Corbridge Park and its sprawling acreage renovated and restored to it's former position as a zenith of the Lake District's horticultural community.

 

Bereft, upheaved, and thrown (or so it feels) backwards in time, Charlotte finds herself once again surrounded by nosey tourists, rampant ramblers, eager horticulture students, and the dutiful employees of Corbridge Park and her late father's floral magnum opus, 'Corbridge Park Educational Nurseries, Orchards and Open Gardens'.

 

With old memories and swallowed emotions bubbling just beneath the surface of her consciousness, and despite the constant, scornful glances of a handsome, studious, but outrageously opinionated and dismissive landscape gardener, the eldest Sanderson daughter must rekindle the love she once felt for the glistening waterscapes, tumbling waterfalls and rocky fellsides of the Lakes, or live tormented and unable to make peace with the same demons that had driven her away from her family home in the first place,
